News and Prospects

May 2008

A few things to report here at the farm. We have some new additions to the herd. We are happy  for the opportunity to give home to another Chu Chus Checkers offspring from his last foal crop, a 2007 loud tovero filly we call Blue. Dam is Lightning Sting/Hazard County bred. We have been busy introducing her to the herd & halter breaking, she is starting to come along nicely.
Our only foal this season has arrived. Proud parents are Ammo {Supreme Ammunition} & Scooter {Miss scooter Twist} . Our little Boy is named Ryder he is a Chestnut/greying SPB. Loaded with good looks & friendly, like all Scooter babies. We are proud to have him join the herd!
Have been slowly starting to work with Creme, has been carrying a saddle & bridle. Doing some longing & ground driving. The weather, with the late snow & then mud have slowed any progressing along with training, but now that things are drying up we hope to get more done. I should be up on her for her first ride soon!!

February 2008

As you may have seen our main Boys, Checkers & Ammo have been sold, we wish them the best at their new homes!!  We are still looking forward to a STORK arrival in May so stay tuned for that announcement. As Spring arrives we plan also to start Creme in her ground work, then under saddle training & perhaps take her out to a couple of shows. We hope to update later on her progress. Lastly our Old Girl Kay Turned the grand age of 30 this year & is doing well. Happy Birthday Kay on your Horsey Milestone!!

December 2007

We have made some changes here at Bar W Acres. We are changing our focus to just have a couple riding horses for our enjoyment & to do limited beeding.

We have dispersed of some of our good mares retaining only a couple . We will do just a few select breedings in the future with them. No need for a stallion for a couple mares & the fact Ammo is related to the few , he will remain for sale. I hope to continue to have 1 to show & plus raising up our young stock. My current project is Creme, a 2006 Tobiano filly. We will continue to offer 1-2 young prospects  for sale or if we don't have any available we generally know of some, from friends & fellow breeders.

As spring approaches us we will be eagerly awaiting our first foal from Ammo, Our good producing mare Scooter is due in May....Can't wait!! Scooter will then be left open after this foaling.

We will again try AI breeding our Tovero mare Macey to a lovely Skipper W bred AQHA stallion, stay tuned for more info on that!!

Have no more breeding/babies expected/planned following these, but big expectations for some great all round performance/halter prospects to work with !!
