We welcome your visit to our herd!!
A TRIBUTE
The Dream all started with one. "Kay" my 1978 AQHA
show mare & she will always have a special place in my heart. For 29
years together, she was my companion, a friend, herd boss & babysitter.
We grew up together & she certainly played a big part of shaping my
life's path. Kay was "Boss" mare of the herd in her younger years &
maintained that position till the end even if it was just by elder
respect. It was a well earned title at that, as she was my first horse &
mother of our first foal. With Heavy hearts we lay Kay to rest November
7,2008. She will certainly be missed by all that knew & loved her. Learn
more about Kay on the
MARES
page.
What's New??
January 2010
Here we are in a New
Year & with it we have a new look! To reflect the downsizing of our
herd
we have revamped our website a bit, Thanks to Christine who has taken
over the reins/ownership of Equine Obsession web design. Her advice &
work on the site is appreciated! Jennifer thanks for past work & for
giving our cyber home it's start!
We will keep you updated here with any horsie news
& show accomplishments we have to share. We will continue to have
some young prospects offered on sale page & tack items. Wishing
everyone all the best in this new year! For us , Creme & I plan for
now to head back for some more showing in the 2010 season. She
finished her 2009 year with 3 ROM's earned: Tobiano color, Novice
Amateur showmanship & Amateur showmanship!!! WHOOO HOOO!!! Hope to
update you with more as spring gets in the air!
August 2009
Well the horses are all fat & sassy, have been trying to get some training in on the younger stock & hope to have the 2 yr olds lightly started by fall. I have been off showing Creme this summer, under the guidance of Trainer & coach Kathy Donnelly. Many thanks to her I've learned a lot & so has Creme!! Still have to brush up my riding skills so we will be ready for riding, more to this western pleasure than I thought. YUP, there is some differences from riding the trail or running a barrel or pole pattern, lol. I have started showmanship, something I'd not shown in before. Well Creme is quite the SMS machine & I'm learning the ropes. We have been consistently placing in showmanship &Tobiano halter. Creme has ROM in Tobiano color & is near 1/2 way to her Superior. Her ROM in showmanship is coming soon too!! Have some pics to share of me practicing Showmanship.
November 2008
Our horse herd is getting
smaller so having less news to report, but have a couple of things to
note: With heavy hearts we announce , we lay to rest the founding mare of
our herd: Pet K Twister AKA Kay. At 30yrs her age was showing & we did not
want to see or have her deteriorate further or fail with the cold winter
approaching. Now free of pain, she's able to run in those green pastures till
we meet again. We'll miss you, R.I.P. Kay. Take time to visit Kay on the
MARES page. On a happier note, Creme our Bay Tobiano filly is off to work
with show horse trainer Kathy Donnelly!! My goal is to have her out riding
as my Amateur horse in the upcoming show season. She is just beginning her
training but hope to have pic's & a progress report to share in the new
year.
