Bar W Acres Paint Horses We are a small Alberta family farm focused on the breeding, sales & Showing of that ALL-round paint horse. Halter horse looks, athletic ability, sound mind & conformation. Our horses come from proven AQHA & APHA pedigrees& we're proud of the quality of horses we have to offer, be it for show ,work or pleasure riding ! We welcome your visit to our herd!!A TRIBUTE The Dream all started with one. "Kay" my 1978 AQHA show mare & she will always have a special place in my heart. For 29 years together, she was my companion, a friend, herd boss & babysitter. We grew up together & she certainly played a big part of shaping my life's path. Kay was "Boss" mare of the herd in her younger years & maintained that position till the end even if it was just by elder respect. It was a well earned title at that, as she was my first horse & mother of our first foal. With Heavy hearts we lay Kay to rest November 7,2008. She will certainly be missed by all that knew & loved her. Learn more about Kay on the Our Horses page.

![]() We've been blessed with a mild winter so far. Little Rose has integrated into the herd very well, with them all watching out for her! Looking forward to getting more riding & training in this Spring. Ryder is my next project, excited about finally see him riding this year! Creme & I will continue to work on our riding together ,along with little Rose that will start learning what it means to be a big horse, getting some work/training routine started. Hope to get her out to show at halter this year! Will try to update with our training progress come summer:) Spring/Summer 2011 ![]() ![]() ![]() Click to enlarge the pictures. Well this year has not been with out heartache. In Late May Scooter Graced us with a sweet little filly. It was a difficult delivery, needing Vet called out in middle of night. All seemed fine, but within the next day saw that Scooter was not herself & ended up in Vet hospital due to internal damage related to the birthing. In the end our attempts to save her failed... We said Our Goodbyes, R.I.P Miss Scooter Twist. We were then left with caring for an Orphan Foal, which has been a learning experience in itself. Little Rose developed her own trouble in her first weeks needing hospitalized vet care too. Happy to report she is now thriving & is such a pleasure to have around. We have assigned Macey to be her adoptive mom, so she has some equine learning/interaction. Macey has taken to her babysitting job & Rose now looks to her new equine Momma ,besides just me her only other mom that has really known. Pics of Rose less than 1day old, still with Scooter at her Side. Then Rose between 1-2 mths old with her New mom Macey. Needless to say with the foal adventures & wet muddy weather this year, haven't been able to get much riding in or think about getting to any shows. We'll see what next year brings, may venture back to the AQHA scene with my little Rose. January 2010 Here we are in a New Year & with it we have a new look! To reflect the downsizing of our herd we have revamped our website a bit, Thanks to Christine who has taken over the reins/ownership of Equine Obsession web design. Her advice & work on the site is appreciated! Jennifer thanks for past work & for giving our cyber home it's start! We will keep you updated here with any horsy news & show accomplishments we have to share. We will continue to have some young prospects offered on sale page & tack items. Wishing everyone all the best in this new year! For us , Creme & I plan for now to head back for some more showing in the 2010 season. She finished her 2009 year with 3 ROM's earned: Tobiano color, Novice Amateur showmanship & Amateur showmanship!!! WHOOO HOOO!!! Hope to update you with more as spring gets in the air!
